My dream of owning baking business has been a lifelong journey. I have been baking since I was a little girl. It started while spending summers with my grandmother learning to bake with her. She was a wizard with pie dough. I got started with wedding cakes when I created my sister's cake. After that, friends, relatives, and even complete strangers began calling me when they got engaged to ask me to do their cakes for all occasions.
For many years I did special order cakes out of my home. This allowed me to be home with my children. Upon relocating to Maine to be with my new husband (I even made our wedding cake, which disappeared before either of us got to taste it!) I worked for the top local commercial bakery in the region.
When I moved to North Carolina, I continued my baking just for friends and family. When Covid-19 affected our lives, I decided to pursue my dream of owning my own baking business. I officially launched my business in April of 2021. Dessert Du Jour operates at Out of the Garden commercial kitchen here in Greensboro.
I’ve been baking wedding cakes, as well as cakes and pastries, for over 10 years. I’m passionate about your cake not only looking beautiful but tasting wonderful!
